Tips On Making Your Guided Hunt A Better Experience

Communicate With Your Guide -
You are paying for the trip so communicate with them.  Let them know your needs and desires.  Tell them when you become tired and need to rest or eat lunch.
Be Humble -   Be Willing To Learn From The Guide
Listen to the guide's ideas.   Good guides are experts on the area your hunting and how to hunt a particular animal.  But if you have a theory or idea let them know.  Act like you are hunting with your best friend.
Remember Good Guides Usually Have Great Enthusiasm
Because of your guides enthusiasm may walk your feet off.  Good guides will want to get the client in the best position to harvest a trophy animal so come prepared for the type of hunt you booked.
Prepare Yourself Physically and Mentally to Hunt Hard All Day
Go into the hunt in the best physical shape you personally can.  Be honest with your guide or outfitter on your physical limitations.  If they know this ahead of time they can prepare to hunt areas that will compliment your abilities.  If you book through The Hunter's Network we will find the guides that will better meet your abilities, budget, and type of hunt desired.
Spend a lot of time at the range, know your gun and its ability and your ability.  Become a marksman.  Get into shape.  Have your doctor complete a physical.  Loose some weight if necessary.  If you will be riding a horse get used to riding a horse for hours on end.  This will help you in the end - your rear end.
Be Part of the Hunt - Not Just the One That Pulls the Trigger
Become a team with your guide - work together.  Help out where you can.  Try to learn about what the guides are doing and why, without getting in their way.  Enjoy the whole experience.
Appreciate the Efforts of the Outfitters and Guide
Express your appreciation.   Tipping is standard and includes all involved - from the wranglers, to the guides and outfitters.  The largest tip would go to the hard working guide.  Base this on service, just as you would at a restaurant.  The tip, however, doesn't necessarily have to be cash, it could be a knife, or something else of value.
Use the Best Gear
Buy good quality equipment.  Quality goes a long way in clothing and equipment, especially in the back country.
Never Be Afraid To Ask Your Guide A Question
Remember there is never a dumb question.   The guide is there to help you.
Have Fun and Enjoy The Hunt!
