Eric Horman harvested this buck around
Soda Springs, Idaho on November 10, 1996 at around 8:00 A.M. with a Remingtion Mod. 700 MZ
50 caliber muzzle loader. He used a Barnes 250 gr. Expander MZ Sabot over 90 grains
of Pyrodex select powder. The shot was off hand at approximately 125 yards down
hill. This was his second muzzle loader mule deer to make the Long Hunter muzzle
loading record book. The buck ranked #5 in Idaho for typical mule deer with a muzzle
loader at the time.
This buck also remains his best buck to date. He gross scored just under 190, but because
of three cheaters on his left back fork and a broken left eye guard (G-1) he nets around
170. |
